Wind & Words

"I found a door behind the wallpaper."
-Patient A1638

Varice, the apprentice

"None of these spells are kind.
None are toys.
None leave you quite as they found you."

Azmar’s wares were simple:
Water that wasn’t clean, but looked it.
Medicine that didn’t heal, but soothed.
Promises that changed shape depending on who held them.
He became rich overnight.
People adored him.
After all, he never lied. He simply… adjusted.

Thieves of Slight and Strangeness

They were careful. Quiet. Almost kind.
They never took from the poor.
Only from the proud.

One night, in a quiet town where every house looked gently folded from paper, they slipped into a home expecting something small.
A superstition. A secret. A sigh.

The Vizier of Unpunished Things

... known in hushed tones as He Who Balances the Scales.
Though no scales were ever seen.
Talem did not speak often, but when he did, people vanished.
A tax collector who accused him of theft? Reassigned to “the ocean.” A scribe who documented his nightly guests? Found floating in the canal, arms folded like pages.
Whispers grew, but proof did not.

Wind and Words do not promise happy endings, but we assure you, you will return wiser for the journey.
